What do hypocits, giraffes and bears have in common? They’re all a part of this week’s News Briefs!
Here on Amber Live we’ve interviewed several politicians and drag queens from Tennessee about the anti-gay, drag, and trans laws being proposed and passed.
Earlier this year, Gabrielle Hanson an alderman – man? Alderperson in the city of Franklin, lead a bitter, but unsuccessful battle to block a Pride festival from being held at a city park. Her campaign manager claimed – falsely – at that a pervious local Pride festival, children were provided with “dildos and butt plugs.”
Now Hanson is running for mayor and it’s been reported she has been charged with money laundering, organized crime, in addition to her admission of convictions of promotion of prostitution.
But depending on whose side you’re on.that’s not the best – or worse – part of her past A picture has surfaced of her husband
appearing at a Chicago Pride parade wearing an American flag inspired speedo. And, he says he not only supported the decision to wear it, but his wife pushed him to go through with it.
Oh, and she’s running as a Republican. Of course she is.
Who knew that you needed a permit to bring Egyptian giraffe poop into the United States? Apparently not an Iowan woman who had her unique souvenirs confiscated by customs upon her return home.
The unidentified stool smuggler declared the small box of doodoo when she was selected to have her belongings inspected upon returning to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport.
What does one do with samples of scat? This person chose to make jewelry. She had previously made bung bangles out of moose droppings.
Giraffe poop can be brought back to the U.S. with the proper permits and inspections, and the woman won’t face sanctions because she declared the dung gave it to Customs.
FYI- African swine fever, classical swine fever, Newcastle disease, foot-and-mouth disease and swine vesicular disease are just some of the shitty sicknesses one can catch from contact with the animal’s waste.

Yes, there are just a few hours left in Fat Bear Week which is an annual event sponsored by the Katmai National Park and Preserve in Alaska. The event is held to celebrate the success of brown bears in preparing for winter hibernation by gaining weight.
Last year over a million votes were cast in the bracket-style tournament. There are biographies of the contestants and bear-cam coverage. I don’t know. Fat Bear Week? Is this body shaming?
If I’m going to vote in a Best Bear contest, there are others I have my eye on
